The Mission of the PCGA is to assist the Philippine Coast Guard in promoting safety of life and property at sea, protection of the marine environment and other humanitarian activities that may be directed by the Commandant of the PCG, such as:
- To assist The Philippine Coast Guard in search and rescue.
- To promote safety in the operation of small boats.
- To promote the various functions of the PCG through voluntary information and organization services.
- To promote environmental programs in the protection and preservation of the marine resources.
- To promote the youth development program of the government.
Primary Programs (known as the Six Cornerstones)
- SOLAS Promotion Program
- Public Education
- Operations
- Fellowship
- Environmental Protection Promotion
- Youth Development
Other Programs are other nationally recognized and approved areas, which do not fall under the primary programs.
One example is an activity involved in support of the Coast Guard public relations programs.
All activities of PCGA Squadrons shall be logged in the Coast Guard District Auxiliary Activities logbook as maintained by the District Commodore.
